About Me
Howdy howdy! My name is Sam Cummins, but you can call me Mr. C! I'm currently pursuing my M.Ed in Elementary Education at Tennessee State University, and I hope to teach second or third grade as soon as I finish up my degree.
First, some background on me. I grew up in Princeton, New Jersey and Washington, DC, and graduated from The University of Michigan in 2016 with a BMA in Vocal Performance and a BA in History. Since graduating, I've lived in Michigan, Israel, New Hampshire, DC, and now Nashville!
In the past, I've had a wealth of experience working with children; I've been a camp counselor, music director, voice teacher, and tutor to kids of all ages. Throughout the past year or so, I have also spent a significant amount of time volunteering with The Boys and Girls Club of Fairview, TN, spending time with the clubbers as well as providing music programming and tutoring.
In my free time, I love running, reading big, boring books, doing crossword puzzles, cooking, playing music with my friends, and finding new music to listen to!
I look forward to getting to know students and parents alike, so if you need to reach me, shoot me an email at cumminsteach@gmail.com
